A few weeks ago I was asked to shoot the cover of Red River Family magazine.
Uh….yes, of course!!
They were featuring Pastor Bob McCartney, from First Baptist Church, and his daughter Kali.
I was told we have one hour, on such and such a day, that is the ONLY time he can do it!
Well, of course, it was raining that day.
I really didn’t want to move the shoot inside - how boring is that?!
So, we all prayed - hard! And it stopped raining for 20 short minutes - right when we needed it to.
When Bob and Mary Anne walked up with their A-dorable litte baby girl - I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
Kali is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen - and I am including MY babies in that statement!
That is just how precious she is!
They prayed for 17 years to have her and I would say she is WELL worth the wait!
I would eat her with a spoon for dessert every night!
It was freezing cold, not to mention rainy, and she smiled and hammed for the camera the whole time!
You could just FEEL how much they loved that little girl. They are having so much fun with her!

The magazine came out yesterday - holla!!
I think my husband was more excited then I was!
He said “we have to get lots of copies and give them to everyone!”
I was honored to photograph this family - not to mention shoot my first cover!
Laura, the publisher, was pretty happy too:
“The cover looks awesome! You did a fantastic job — so hard to choose which one to use– we used 3 of them (2 on the inside pages). Pastor Bob and Mary Anne sent a note of appreciation to me today. Because of your talent, this is a very special issue!”
